Full Sail Student Commissioned by TIME Magazine to Feature Prominent Artwork

January 28, 2009

Full Sail University is honored to recognize current Digital Arts & Design student, Dylan Roscover (www.gorosco.com), for his latest typographic piece which was published this week by TIME Magazine featuring President Barack Obama, and accompanied the leading story, “President Obama One Year In.”

  • The piece, originally commissioned by TIME for the cover, was presented in the February 1, 2010 issue within the Table of Contents.
  • The piece includes 12,680 characters, not including spaces and took roughly 20 hours to put together.
  • After seeing his work online, TIME Magazine Design Director D.W. Pine contacted Roscover and asked him to design an image of President Barack Obama, in the same style as his previous typeface-based illustration, “Steven Paul Jobs."
  • The piece depicts a burdened President Obama who “took power at a time of crisis.”
