Your vision of becoming a professional recording engineer isn’t driven by a desire to push buttons – it’s the idea of taking part in making a quality piece of music. A solid understanding of what goes into good music is essential for an engineer to get the most out of a musician or instrument’s sound and ultimately deliver a powerful final product.

In the Recording Engineering degree program, you’ll learn the processes and techniques used by top music producers to create flawless tracks. From finding the sweet spot on a microphone to working with an artist on song structure, your coursework in music production and theory give you insight into the fundamentals of melody, harmony, rhythm and tone.

You’ll learn what goes into writing songs, plus vocal production techniques to record lyrics to their full potential. And you’ll study music history to understand today’s music in the context of the classics.
