Each of Full Sail's degree programs is developed and shaped in conjunction with an advisory board of industry professionals. Carlos Carbonell has 15 years of marketing and advertising experience. In late 2008, he founded Echo Interaction Group, the leading mobile application and interactive media development company in Central Florida. Under Carlos' leadership, Echo has achieved several accomplishments. including winning the International Association for the Wireless Telecommunications Industry's "Best App" award in 2011 for Gogobeans. Additionally, Echo has pioneered the development of the first-ever mobile applications for the building manufacturing and residential condominium industries. Currently, Echo is deeply entrenched in brand gamification via mobile and creating applications for municipal and federal government. Carlos’ passion for and expertise in lobbying and nonprofit work inspired him to create the first mobile canvassing tool for the iPad, iRegister. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Carlos is also an esteemed national speaker on the topics of social media and mobile marketing.
Jim Zimmerman is the CTO of Thuzi and has worked with several online web startups for the last 14 years. Jim has been writing most web apps with C# and currently specializes in scalable web application development using jQuery, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, C#, AJAX, along with the Facebook API. He has more than 14 years experience in web development with past experience using languages such Perl, Php, C, C++, Java and Visual Basic. He also specializes in SEO for clients using organic search, PPC, and online marketing strategies.
Jim is currently an Azure MVP. He speaks on various web related topics including Azure, Ajax, jQuery, ORM, and ASP.NET MVC at Code Camps and .NET user groups in Florida and around the country. Jim is a contributing member of several open source projects including the Facebook C# SDK, Windows Azure Toolkit, PHP Azure Toolkit, Ajax Control Toolkit, and SubSonic 3. He co-authored the book, Beginning ASP.NET 2.0 Ajax from Wrox Press, which was published in July of 2007.
When not glued to the computer, Jim likes to play with his wife and children at the beach in Tampa, Florida and play guitar every once in a while.
Ethan has been developing web applications for 15 years and has served as the lead architect for clients such as Bank of America, AAA, Dixon Ticonderoga, and Herff Jones. Before co-founding Caxiam Group in 2001, Ethan led a team of developers in building a card-based, stored-value platform responsible for millions of dollars in gift card transactions. He is a graduate of Full Sail's two-year Digital Media AS Degree.
Gregg has helped build several technology companies, including Envy Labs – a Ruby on Rails consultancy in downtown Orlando – and Code School – an online learning platform that teaches software developers new skills. He also runs Orlando's yearly BarCamp, the Orlando Ruby Users Group, and the Orlando Tech Events newsletter.
Phil Ice holds an Education Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with minor concentrations in Instructional Technology and Science Education. Currently Dr. Ice is the Vice President of Research and Development at American Public University System (APUS) and Vice President of Research & Development for Sage Road Analytics, LLC. His research is focused on the impact of new and emerging technologies on cognition in online learning environments. Work in this area has brought him international recognition in the form of three Sloan-C Effective Practice of the Year Awards (2007, 2009 and 2010) and the AliveTek/DLA Innovation on Online Distance Learning Administration Award. He has been recognized by industry through membership in Adobe's Education Leaders Group and Adobe's Higher Education Advisory Board, as well as a recipient of the Adobe Higher Education Leaders Impact Award, 2010. Dr. Ice has conducted over 100 peer-reviewed and invited presentations and workshops, and has authored more than 20 articles, book chapters, and white papers related to the integration of emerging technologies in e-learning.
Stephen Caudill is the Senior Developer at the world-renowned software consultancy Hashrocket. Over the past four years at Hashrocket, Stephen has consulted on everything from strategy and process to development. His area of expertise is Object Oriented Design and his primary development languages are Objective-C and Ruby. Prior to working at Hashrocket, Stephen spent nearly a decade working as an independent consultant and serial entrepreneur.
As Director of Content Services and Technology at Intelladon, Chuck Griess is responsible for delivering content solutions that support clients’ business strategies and optimize their talent. His expertise is in m-learning as well as e-learning and includes in-depth technical knowledge of various content authoring platforms and programming languages such as HTML5, Python, and more. For the past five years, Chuck has been heavily involved in enhancing client learning management systems through custom interfaces and templates. He has nearly 15 years of experience in designing and developing websites and is an instructor of a college-level course on web page design and management. Chuck was awarded a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida.
Scott Newman has more than 15 years experience in web application development, and seven of those years have been specifically in Django development, including the publishing of Django Templates 1.0 with Packt Publishing. For the past four years, Scott has been doing iPhone/iOS development, and he currently works as Senior Mobile Developer for the National Geographic Society, where he won the 2012 Apple Design Award for his “National Parks by National Geographic” application. Scott also served a year as a consulting director for Big Nerd Ranch.
As a Strategic Account Manager, it is Jeff Bouley’s goal to continually enhance, foster, and grow lasting relationships with clients that partner with Universal Mind. Jeff has fostered successful partnerships with many organizations during his tenure at Universal Mind, including FedEx, Johnson & Johnson, Todo1/Bancolombia, MapQuest, Mercer Insurance, Pearson, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Fidelity Investments, and General Electric. Jeff earned his MS in Management of Technology from the University of Miami, and his BS in Information Systems from the University of Central Florida. Outside of the office, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and twin boys at the beach or Walt Disney World.
