Fine Arts
Our Computer Animation curriculum is built on a foundation of traditional art concepts, helping you understand classical applications of color theory, character motion, architecture, and more, as you prepare to create realistic digital models in 3D space.
Using an array of standard studio art tools, from pencil and paper to modeling clay, you’ll learn how to control and manipulate a subject’s volume, weight, and proportions, as well as articulate its acting and movements in a more lifelike manner.
Additional topics in layout, composition, and lighting are supported by hands-on exercises in life drawing and texture patterns – traditional art projects that will help you gain an appreciation of the technique and craft involved in turning real world objects into animation.
