Erika received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. Erika is a veteran combat photojournalist, who has traveled the world, covering combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. She also covered multiple relief efforts throughout Haiti, Guyana, and Nicaragua. Her extensive, photographic coverage was published by the Department of Defense, Associated Press, Reuters, and other media outlets.
Eileen has worked in newspapers since the early 1990s. She earned her master’s degree in Mass Communication at the University of Florida, and began her career as a copy editor designing the Space & Science and Local sections at Florida Today. She also worked as a public safety/education reporter at the Ocala Star-Banner, and eventually returned to school to fulfill a lifelong dream of practicing criminal law, which she did for two years. After teaching a Criminal Law class, she loved it so much that she decided to teach full-time, and taught communications, negotiations, law, and writing courses.
Trained as a traditional print journalist, David also has eight years experience as a political public relations consultant, 12 years experience in marketing and event management, and seven years experience as a college communications and journalism instructor. While completing his doctoral studies at the University of Florida, David was recognized as the 2011 Outstanding Graduate Student Teacher in the College of Journalism and Communications from a pool of over 50 candidates. Between 2008 and 2012, David also co-authored entries in the Encyclopedia of Journalism, two book chapters and a journal article on the 2008 presidential campaign, a journal article on Florida’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign, and 12 academic conference papers on journalism and political communication.
Meredith started her journalism career in 1999, working as a reporter and editor in southwest Florida. While receiving her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida in journalism, Meredith worked at the University of Florida Foundation in the Department of Publications and Public Relations as the assistant editor and then web editor. She pursued her master’s degree in mass communications and began teaching for the College of Journalism and Communications, where she taught the two largest lecture courses and presented and published research. After completing her master’s degree, she was recruited by UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences to provide scientists with new media tools to promote their research on a global scale.
Jeff is an experienced video journalist and producer who has worked at the forefront of individual media production throughout his career. He previously worked for his alma mater, the University of Central Florida, producing and hosting a weekly sports magazine and highlight show for the school’s athletics association, and captaining several special coverage projects. Prior to that, Jeff served as Sports Anchor and Reporter and Weather Anchor for WNEG-TV, the former CBS affiliate in Northeast Georgia. In his spare time, Jeff also taught Mass Communications and Broadcast Journalism at Toccoa Falls College and Piedmont College. He received his bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television with a minor in Political Science from the University of Central Florida, and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Christi Davis started out in event planning in the nonprofit sector after graduating with her Communications degree from Asbury College. She went on to law school at Regent University and subsequently worked in the nonprofit sector in management and event planning. She’s done everything from volunteering and stuffing envelopes to being an executive director. She joined the Full Sail family in 2010 in the Entertainment Business Masters Program but has now migrated to the New Media Journalism program. She and her husband own an entertainment-based café where they host open mic nights, film festivals and art shows.
