Full Sail Graduates and Current Student at the 2011 Latin GRAMMY Awards '91 Recording Arts grad Sebastian Krys nominated for Record of the Year and Album of the Year

[UPDATE, Nov.11: Congratulations to all the Full Sail grads who worked on Latin GRAMMY-winning projects! Six graduates worked on five different Latin GRAMMY-winning projects in eight different categories, including John Blais and Charles Wakeman, who both worked on Calle 13's Entren Los Que Quieran, winner of Album of the Year. And three Full Sail grads took home their own Latin GRAMMY awards as well.]

We’re proud to announce the accomplishments of 12 Full Sail graduates recognized with the announcement of the 12 Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards nominees. 19 total graduates are credited on 13 total artist releases nominated in 12 total categories.

Recording Arts grad/2009 Hall of Fame inductee Sebastian Krys is nominated for his work as Engineer/Mixer on two of the bigger awards this year, with Franco De Vita with Alejandra Guzman’s “Tan Solo Tu” up for Record of the Year and Franco De Vita’s En Primera Fila nominated in the Album of the Year category.

Congratulations also go out to current Recording Arts student Orlando Mendez, who worked as Engineer on Christian hip hop artist Funky’s Reset, which has been nominated in the Best Christian Album (Spanish Language) category.

The Latin GRAMMY Awards take place November 10 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and will feature performances by Pepe Aguilar, Calle 13, Pitbull with Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos with Usher, Shakira, and more. You can watch the awards when they air live on the Univision Network from 8:00 p.m.- 11:00 p.m. EST, or from the international live stream at www.latingrammy.com beginning at 4:30 p.m. EST.
