Kristin Wemlinger: Bringing Attractions and Venues to Life
The Entertainment Business graduate is a project manager for Technomedia Solutions

As Project Manager at Technomedia Solutions, Kristin Wemlinger is constantly steering and supervising the direction of the audio/visual components for theme park attractions, clubs and live venues, resorts, cruise lines, and more.
The Orlando-based Audio Visual Design and Integration company has handled countless projects in its eight-year history, including over a hundred Hard Rock Hotel, Café, Live, and Casino locations across the U.S., museums, retail locations, corporate headquarters, and numerous Universal Studios attractions in Orlando, Florida, Hollywood, California, and Osaka, Japan.
“As Project Manager, I coordinate and manage the different departments internally and externally with the initial project scope in mind. While working with the client and with other trades involved with this new design or integration, my job is to manage a project from the beginning to end making sure it gets completed exactly as the client conceptualized it,” Kristin explains. “It’s definitely a lot to juggle. There are long nights and weekend work. It’s a challenge, but I like challenges.”
From audio/visual design to the programming and installation of a project, every day can be a different experience for Kristin. With Technomedia’s wide scope of clients around the world, the Full Sail Entertainment Business graduate finds herself on the road quite often these days.
“At the very beginning of a project, we go to check out the site before we even design it. A lot of times we learn about the different site conditions by actually seeing it in person,” she says. “Then, once installation has kicked off, I like to go and make sure that all my guys have what they need and the conditions are correct for a seamless integration. Sometimes we will stay on-site for an entire installation, but for other projects, like the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, installation can take as long as nine months to a year to complete. In cases like those, project managers usually just go back and forth to make sure that everything is on schedule and that the client is happy.”
Though the scheduling and coordinating of multiple projects may seem difficult, Kristin says that managing the expectations of Technomedia’s clients can be one of the more challenging parts of her job. “The client always comes first for us, and their perception is our reality,” she says. “We always want to make sure that they are really happy with how things are going. You can’t tell them that a large venue design and installation really isn’t possible to complete in just three months. You have to find a way to make it happen or work with their time line to give them something spectacular for their opening day. You can manage their expectations when it comes to functionality and realistic time lines, but you can’t tell them that they can not get what they want.”
Kristin credits her Full Sail experience with preparing her to work in such a fast-paced environment. “The strategic planning side of the program really helped me out in terms of what I’m doing now,” she explains. “I really learned a lot. The program is fast, but you take what you want from it, and then apply it to your real-world experiences and continue to learn. It’s such a cool company. I’ve been very happy and lucky. The opportunities and projects here are just phenomenal.”
