Apple Presenting iPhone Development Seminar at Full Sail

The iPhone has become an exciting platform for software developers, with its intuitive touch screen offering creative new design options for games and applications.

With so many studios looking to create content for the device, Full Sail is excited to be hosting an iPhone development seminar on campus this February. Titled “iPhone Under the Hood,” the event will be led by Apple Consulting Engineer Steve Hayman, and is set to cover various tools and programs the company offers for developers.

“iPhone games are exploding right now,” says Liam Hislop, Course Director for our Game Project class. “The touch screen and the gyroscopes in there lead to some really interesting mechanics, and I think that has helped the iPhone tremendously by having developers break out of the normal mold and come up with some really unique and creative ideas using it.”

The iPhone seminar will be held from 10am-12pm on February 4, in Full Sail’s Entertainment Business auditorium. The event is free, and open to software developers and IT staff, as well as educators looking to incorporate the technology into their curriculum.

“Seminars like this are really valuable to us as educators because the iPhone has become a great outlet for our graduates,” Hislop adds. “I’ve actually been contacted by a former grad who has started up his own iPhone game development company. He’s hired three of our other grads, and they’re working on some really cool projects for it.”
