41 Full Sail Grads Part of 20 GRAMMY®-Winning Projects
Another big night for Full Sail at the 51st GRAMMY® Awards

This year’s 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards had it all: all-star on-stage collaborations, appearances from some of the music industry’s biggest stars, and of course, huge victories for Full Sail graduates who worked on award-winning projects. A total of 41 graduates were credited on 20 artists’ releases that won awards in 25 total categories.
A big winner was Lil Wayne, who garnered eight nominations and won three awards, including Best Rap Album. Full Sail Recording Arts grads Fabian Marasciullo (Engineer/Mixer), Andrews Correa (Producer), and Julian Vasquez (Engineer) all had a hand in making Wayne’s Tha Carter III, which was 2008’s best-selling album. The rapper joined Jay-Z, T.I., Kanye West, and a nine-months pregnant M.I.A. for a performance of T.I.’s “Swagger Like Us.”
Full Sail grads were involved in several other award-winning projects this year, including Best R&B Album (Jennifer Hudson – Jennifer Hudson: James Stassen, Anthony Terrebonne, James M. Wisner, Demacio Castellon, Phil Tan, Fabian Marascuillo, Brandon Parks, Vadim Chislov), Best Rock Song (“Girls In Their Summer Clothes” – Bruce Springsteen: Tom Tapley, Tom Syrowski, Matt Serrecchio), Best Country Song (“Stay” – Sugarland: David Bryant, John Netti), and Producer of the Year, Non-Classical (Rick Rubin – Metallica’s Death Magnetic: Jason Gossman, Jason Mott).
“This has been an exciting night again this year for Full Sail and our graduates,” said Garry Jones, President of Full Sail University. “We are overwhelmed by their success and are honored to celebrate this very special moment in their career history.”
