Full Sail Wins "Best Company" Award
The school was picked in the Orlando Business Journal's 2009 Readers Choice Awards
Full Sail University recently received the honor of being named “Best Company” in the Orlando Business Journal’s 2009 Reader’s Choice Awards.
Full Sail received votes in multiple categories, and was selected as best company throughout all of Orlando and Central Florida, an honor that last year was bestowed on Darden Restaurants. The award comes on the heels of the school being named the “School/College of the Year” by the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges in 2008.
In 2006, Full Sail had an economic impact in Central Florida of $400 million as reported by The Washington Economics Group, and a projected total five-year impact of $2.7 billion. In addition, it was concluded that Full Sail was responsible for 3,500 direct and indirect employment positions in the region, with a projection to grow to 6,000 positions over five years.
“To win Best Company and be selected by the readers of the Orlando Business Journal is humbling, exciting, and reinforces our enduring commitment to being a leading university for the entertainment industry,” said Full Sail University President Garry Jones. “We simply would not be the same without each and every employee within this organization who chooses to call Full Sail home, and their constant dedication to our students in every facet of this dynamic institution is extraordinary.”
Full Sail recently celebrated its 30th anniversary year and currently serves more than 8,000 students in both online and on-campus degree programs, and currently employs over 1,450 staff and faculty.
