WWE announced today that it has awarded its latest $10,000 scholarship to Felipe Giannazzo, a Full Sail University student, as part of its ongoing partnership with Full Sail. The partnership provides students at the University an opportunity to gain real-world experience producing WWE’s weekly NXT program.
The scholarship will be applied toward Giannazzo’s studies in the Show Production Bachelor of Science degree program at Full Sail University. WWE Executive Vice President, Talent and Live Events, Paul Levesque and Full Sail University Chief Operating Officer, Ken Goldstone presented the scholarship, on behalf of WWE, during the grand opening of the WWE Performance Center on Thursday afternoon.
WWE selected Giannazzo to receive this scholarship for exhibiting exceptional professionalism and creative talent, while shadowing WWE staff and crew during the production of NXT at the University, as well as maintaining good academic standing.
"We are delighted to join WWE in congratulating the latest scholarship recipient, Felipe Giannazzo,” said Ken Goldstone, Chief Operating Officer for Full Sail University. “WWE NXT tapings at Full Sail University provide our students with a one-of-a-kind educational opportunity to learn from industry professionals in a real-world setting on our campus. It is with great pride that we thank WWE for their continued commitment to education."
In May 2012, WWE and Full Sail University announced a collaborative partnership that moved the live tapings of WWE NXT to the University’s state-of-the-art performance venue, Full Sail Live. Full Sail University students, staff, faculty and the general public have been invited to attend the live tapings on the campus, with proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund. Previous WWE scholarships have been awarded to Full Sail University students Geraldo Gutierrez and Allison Iliev.
