Dr. Daniel Siegel
Course Director | Game Strategies and Motivation
Dr. Daniel Siegel has a passion for teaching all types of students in all walks of life. He has taught in a variety of environments from elementary students to top-level executives at Fortune 500 companies. As an instructional designer, Dr. Siegel has developed courseware for a variety of industries and government organizations such as the U.S. Navy, Stanford University, Disney, Home Depot, and the Department of Education.
Dr. Ian Gibson
Course Director | Learning Management Systems and Organization
As an undergraduate, Dr. Gibson studied Electronic Engineering at Southampton University and then, after a year in television broadcasting as a Trainee Film Editor, he joined IBM as an electrical engineer developing computer monitors and communication adapter cards. During that time he enjoyed being a part of a very special engineering community that pioneered several important technology advances. Dr. Gibson developed a special interest in the emerging fields of hypertext and multimedia computing and inspired by the MIT Media Convergence concept, he decided to pursue Master's level studies at UNC, Chapel Hill in Mass Communications. After working in Europe and Scandinavia for four years, Dr. Gibson was pursuing PhD studies in Alabama during the dawn of the web revolution and was fortunate to work on a medical information library project and became a patent co-inventor.
Dr. Richard Repp
Course Director | Music Theory and Education Applications
Dr. Repp holds a Ph.D. in Technology-Based Music Instruction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Music in Performance (Voice) with an emphasis in Arts Technology from Illinois State University, a BS in Music and Mathematics (Dual Degree) from Illinois State, and an AA and AS from William Rainey Harper College. He studied recording at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH, completing the Recording Engineering and Music Production Program, the Studio Maintenance and Troubleshooting Program, the Advanced Recording Engineering and Music Production Program, and the NewTech Computer-Based Audio Production Program. He is a certified TI-ME instructor, and is also a certified McClosky Voice Technician (CMVT).
Lisa Smith
Course Director | Digital Media and Education Applications
An instructional technologist with over eight years of experience, Lisa is the new course director for Digital Media and Education Applications. Her educational background includes a combination of visual art, mass media, and behavioral sciences. She has academic interests in perceptual and sensory processing factors in e-learning and exploring emerging learning technologies such as immersive learning simulations and m-learning. Lisa graduated as an Honors Scholar from the University of West Florida in 1997, and then went on to complete her M.A. in Instructional Design from the University of Central Florida. While attending grad school, Lisa had the opportunity to work for the Lockheed Martin Corporation where she gained a valuable jump-start to her career. There she helped to build and maintain corporate virtual universities and e-learning applications serving over 5000 Lockheed employees. Over the years, she has created e-learning solutions for corporate, government, and military clients on topics as varied as Mandarin Chinese, jet aircraft maintenance, and military demolitions.
