Program Overview
Our Show Production & Touring curriculum helps provide you with the practical and technical skills you’ll need to prepare you for a career in the field of your choice – whether it’s the live concert and touring market, corporate productions, conventions, sports broadcasting, or other live entertainment productions. You’ll become immersed in the world of live audio and lighting design, as well as acoustical measurement, computer-aided design (CAD), electronics maintenance, and more. Our instructors will teach you the theories and principles behind these components of the live experience while you’re getting hands-on experience with a wide assortment of the gear used by professionals in the entertainment world.
Once you’ve gotten a grasp on production concepts in a classroom setting, you’ll be able to put your skills to the test in live lab environments where you’ll interact with actual performers and real-world challenges. You’ll know how to ensure that things run smoothly – and how to maintain order when problems arise.
In addition to show production-specific skills, you’ll also have courses in general career development skills such as computer business applications, personal finance management, communication skills, and how to prepare yourself for that first step into the entertainment world. To help you make that transition, we’ve also got a team of Career Development professionals that will help you polish your interviewing skills and resume and get you ready to enter the industry. In addition, our Career Development services and advisors will be available for support and assistance throughout your career – not just during your education.
