76th Primetime Emmys: 196 Grads on Nominated Shows

Hundreds of grads worked on nominated projects in more than 100 categories.

The nominations for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards are here, and hundreds of Full Sail graduates were credited on some of the past year’s biggest shows. From comedy hits like The Bear and historical dramas like Shōgun to thrillers like Ripley and video game adaptations like Fallout, these remarkable productions had help from Full Sail grads. Overall, 196 grads worked on 184 nominated projects in 103 categories, with 12 graduates nominated for their own Emmys.

Twelve grads working in audio, sound effects, and visual effects received nominations for their own awards. Kyle Rottman (Visual Effects Supervisor) and Mark Hailstone (Sound Effects Editor) were both nominated for their contributions to FX’s Shōgun in the categories Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie and Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series, respectively. Grad Derik Lee (Song Mixer) was recognized for his work on Only Murders in the Building in the category Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series.

Patrick Christensen (ADR Mixer) was nominated for Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series for his audio work on The Bear, while Marion Spates (Overall Visual Effects Supervisor) received a nod in the Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie category for her contributions to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Nominated grads also worked on projects like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Black Mirror,3 Body Problem, and more.

Grads Alexandra Paola Garcia Ortiz (Associate Finishing Producer) and Eric Sibley (Visual Effects Supervisor) both worked on Netflix’s Ripley, which received 13 nominations in categories like Outstanding Limited Anthology Series and Outstanding Special Effects In A Single Episode. Amazon Prime’s Fallout received 16 nominations in categories including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes. Alumni like Miccah Underwood (Set Decoration Coordinator/Art Department Coordinator) and Kendell Darian Copeland (Lead Layout TD) helped bring the video game adaptation to life.

Additional grads worked on nominated shows like Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, Ahsoka, The Amazing Race, Fargo, Loki, and more.
