The on-campus event gave students a night full of music, culture, and dancing.

On May 1, Full Sail students attended the Global Music Celebration hosted by the university’s International Student Society at the Backlot on campus. Sponsored by The Pledge of Central Florida, a local non-profit organization that promotes unity, culture, and community engagement, the event featured fun activities including dance lessons, face painting, giveaways, and a photo booth — all with the goal of bringing students together to celebrate unity and diversity.

To experience a taste of other cultures, attendees had the chance to learn dances from around the world, such as Cuban-style salsa, K-Pop choreography, and traditional Filipino dances. They could also sit for a colorful face painting inspired by flags of countries from across the globe, as well as enter giveaways to win prizes including an Amazon gift card and a Fujifilm Instax camera. Additionally, students had the opportunity to try sodas and drinks from different regions like Asia and Latin America. Throughout the event, students got to network and build meaningful connections with peers both domestic and international.

“The energy overall was ecstatic,” shared Justine Francisco, the International Student Coordinator at Full Sail. “Attendees participated in the activities, got to learn about The Pledge, and just overall had a wonderful time.”
