Back in February – during Full Sail’s Fourth Annual Hall of Fame Celebration – singer/songwriter Marc Broussard treated faculty, staff, students, and the public to a free Valentine’s Day concert. That performance has since been turned into a live concert video, “Marc Broussard LIVE from Full Sail University,” which is being released nationwide this Thursday. Proceeds from the sales of the video and the already-released live CD of the same name go towards a scholarship for a Full Sail student, which will be announced Thursday during a private launch event on Full Sail’s campus. (To tune in to a live stream of the launch event, visit livestream.com/fullsailuniversity on Thursday at approximately 5:05 p.m. EST.)

We recently had a chance to talk to Marc about the video, which you can purchase on DVD and Blu-ray here.

What do you think of the finished result?

MB: I think this footage came out better than I could have ever dreamed. I’ve always wanted to film a concert professionally, and Full Sail knocked it out of the park!

Why did you choose Full Sail as the location for this video shoot?

MB: Truthfully, I feel more like Full Sail chose me. They offered me the option to film the concert, but I had no idea that they would go to such lengths to bring this thing to life. So many wonderfully talented people are responsible for this project that I was humbled and honored just to be a part of it.

What’s your favorite part of performing live?

MB: I get to witness the greatest part of humanity on a regular basis. Hundreds of people, in concert (literally) sharing a joyous experience. There’s no politics, no hate, and no bias. Only love. I truly have the best job in the world.

What are your touring/recording plans for the rest of the year?

MB: I’m currently wrapping up recording a new record that will hopefully hit the stores in January. 2014 will be a banner year for me. I’ve got a vision for the short term as well as the long term and it all revolves around hitting the road. We’re planning some big tours right now, so keep an eye on your local concert calendar!
