The Princeton Review Names Full Sail a Top Game Design School

Full Sail’s undergraduate and graduate game degree programs were featured on the organization’s 2023 list.

Full Sail’s undergraduate and graduate Game degree programs are designed to help students learn professional skills for the game industry, and those programs were recently included on The Princeton Review’s 2023 list of Top Game Design Schools.

“We’re excited to receive this type of recognition and have our gaming programs included in [the Princeton Review’s] list,” says Dr. Haifa Maamar, Full Sail’s Education Director of Emerging Technologies. “We constantly work with industry professionals and subject matter experts to update our curriculum according to gaming industry needs. This recognition is a testament to our continued commitment to providing real-world education and opportunities to our students while further enhancing the technology landscape.”

Blackmoor Studios
This collaborative space mimics a real-world game studio, with conference areas, office spaces, and presentation areas for students to plan, build, and present their video game projects.

Fabrication Lab
Simulation & Visualization students use this workshop to design and build their own tools with equipment like laser scanners, 3D printers, and CNC milling machines.

UX Lab
Students in Game degree programs conduct user experience tests in this lab. They determine how much a user enjoys their interaction with a piece of technology by evaluating eye movements, heart rate, sweat production, and other physiological measurements.

VR/AR Lab
In the VR/AR Lab, students can use headsets from companies like Oculus, Microsoft, and Magic Leap to develop virtual and augmented reality applications.

Studio V1: Virtual Production
Students in Full Sail’s Game Art program help develop real-time virtual backgrounds using game engines like Unreal Engine in Studio V1, Full Sail’s multi-million-dollar virtual production studio.

Full Sail University Orlando Health Fortress
The Fortress is the largest collegiate esports arena in the country, with 11,200 square feet providing space for up to 100 esports athletes and 500 spectators. It’s also home to Armada, Full Sail’s official esports team.

Career Development Opportunities at Full Sail University

Full Sail’s Career Development department prepares students and graduates for the game industry with guest speakers, networking opportunities, online workshops, and job-hunting strategies. The department maintains updated records of potential industry employers, and graduating students are invited to join CareerSync, an online portal that connects Full Sail graduates to job listings. Graduates who have completed their degree program can also audit a current class in that program at any time, free of charge. Career Development’s services are available to all graduates throughout their careers.
