Leon Hopkins

Road Staff Manager | Clair Global

Leon Hopkins has spent more than 40 years contributing to the success of hundreds of live shows, first as a performer and eventually as a touring Audio Engineer for Showco in Dallas, Texas.. Already a live performer and a technician, Leon came to Full Sail to further hone the professional side of his craft.

As a Recording Arts grad finishing studies in 1986, Leon bought a one-way plane ticket to Dallas, accepted a job with Showco, and was thrown into the world of live touring and commenced touring internationally for the next 10 years with artists like Paul McCartney, ZZ Top, George Michael, Janet Jackson, and more. In 1996 Leon left the road to begin a new journey, creating a Training Program for the Showco group with a vision to help develop touring personnel for the company into the future. After Showco was acquired by Clair Global in 2000, Leon remained focused on employee growth and development. As the company grew, Leon’s duties remained as the Road Staff Manager and Personnel Director for Clair Global to provide oversight of the Road Staff operational infrastructure that oversees hundreds of audio touring and event employees globally to align and deploy road crew teams into the field among their hundreds of clients. This involves building relationships across the employee workforce and clients. After many years in this position, Leon remains involved with day-to-day company operations along with employee mentorship to help steer careers into a productive future for Clair Global.
