Shaun McCabe

Head of Technology | Insomniac Games

Shaun McCabe is the Head of Technology at Insomniac Games, the award-winning developer of Marvel's Spider-Man. Shaun joined Insomniac Games in 2003 as an engine programmer, where he developed audio technology for Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Ratchet: Deadlocked and the PlayStation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man. In 2009, Shaun joined Chad Dezern to open a new Insomniac studio in Durham, North Carolina. There he co-directed additional Ratchet & Clank releases and served as executive producer for Seedling for Magic Leap One as well as the Oculus Rift titles Edge of Nowhere, Feral Rites, and The Unspoken. Shaun also serves as a guest speaker and panelist discussing technology within the gaming industry.

In 2018, Shaun assumed the role of Head of Technology, leading the engineering, technical, UI/UX, and IT teams to develop several best-selling games for PlayStation 5, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart, and, most recently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In addition to his role at Insomniac Games, Shaun is also a part-time Course Instructor at Art Center of Design in Pasadena, CA, focusing on technical guidance for capstone projects.
