Digital Entertainment Studio REBL HQ and A Capella YouTube Sensation VoicePlay Join Forces to Pay Tribute to the Tony Award-Nominated Broadway Hit Musical “Hamilton”

Today, digital entertainment studio REBL HQ, and a capella YouTube influencers VoicePlay, are proud to announce the video release of their latest cover featuring the song “My Shot” made popular by the Tony award-nominated Broadway hit musical “Hamilton.” To check out the video go to http://bit.ly/VoicePlay-MyShot.

No stranger to Broadway and Pop covers, a capella aces VoicePlay give their vocal treatment to Broadway’s acclaimed Hip-Hop show “Hamilton.” The group covers the song “My Shot” at a time when Hamilton is nominated for an unprecedented 16 Tony awards and is enjoying sold out seating for the foreseeable future. The song “My Shot” recounts the risky subject matter of secret conversations had by America’s future leaders leading up to the American Revolution.

“It’s really about a crucial point in American history which seems apropos as we’re taking our shot in our careers and many of the students of Full Sail are taking their shot here at REBL HQ” says Eli Jacobson, VoicePlay’s lead singer.

REBL HQ, a Maker Studios and Full Sail University collaboration, has been working with digital stars since opening its doors in March 2015. Most recently, REBL HQ joined forces with talented YouTube influencers VoicePlay, the Orlando-based a capella group creating original music, covers, and parodies solely using the sound of their voices. The desire to work together on a unique project was mutual, and the two groups began immediate pre-production.

“Having the opportunity to create expressive content with impassioned creators such as VoicePlay and helping them amplify their message is REBL’s key focus,” said Drew Walkup, General Manager, REBL HQ.

Shot entirely on the REBL HQ sound stages at Full Sail University, the music video was filmed over the course of one day on a set designed and built with the assistance of Full Sail's talented students. The crew was comprised of industry professionals and Full Sail film students participating in roles including camera operators, lighting designers and more. VoicePlay’s vocal percussionist Layne Stein served as creative director and worked directly with the crew throughout the production to create one of their best videos yet.

REBL HQ concurrently filmed a series of behind-the-scenes videos showing the creation of the music video, including techniques such as Vocal Percussion, Pitch Correction, and Isolating Vocals. The behind-the-scenes series are featured on Full Sail’s YouTube channel (youtube.com/FullSailUniversity).
