Full Sail Labs at Full Sail University Named Apple Distinguished School

Full Sail Labs at Full Sail University is pleased to announce it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2017–2019 for its use of Apple hardware and software in its curriculum to empower students to create content and tell their story. Full Sail Labs’ connection to Full Sail University allows it to benefit from their campus, technology, and industry experts.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence that use Apple products to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching, and the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishment.

“Being recognized as an Apple Distinguished School gives the students and parents of Full Sail Labs reassurance that we have gone through the rigorous process of research to develop a creative learning model that solidifies we are up to date on the latest technology, methodology, and insight into the K-12 learning space,” said Dr. Holly Ludgate, Apple Distinguished Educator and Director of Learning for Full Sail Labs. “We’ve spent the past several years ensuring our teaching and learning methods within the Lab are second to none and we believe the Apple Distinguished School recognition showcases just that.”

The selection of Full Sail Labs as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment. Whether utilizing GarageBand to leverage concepts for Music Production or building a 3D game using the unreal engine on a Macbook Pro, Apple tools helps Full Sail Labs students tell their story. Based on the success of our campus programs, Full Sail Labs recently launched online courses catering to curious young minds in the areas of Music Production, Game Design, Social Media, Video Production, and more.

About Full Sail Labs:

Full Sail Labs was designed by Full Sail University to provide young creative talent with an engaging and open learning environment to explore their creativity through storytelling, art, and technology.

Located on Full Sail University’s campus, Full Sail Labs first launched in May 2015 offering eleven one-week Summer Camps for kids (Ages 7-12). Over 170 students participated in the 2015 Summer Camp sessions in one of four offerings- filmmaking, game design, music production, or robotics.

As of October 2017, Full Sail Labs has educated more than 1,000 students through Summer Camps, School Year Programs, and Workshops. Programs have expanded to incorporate teens (ages 13-17) and offer a product listing of over 15 educational experiences. Most recently, Full Sail Labs has launched multiple Online Courses in entertainment, media, and technology.
