Magic Gaming Announces 2020 Schedule; Team Set to Host Two Local Competitions at Full Sail University

Magic Gaming Media Day to be held on Monday, March 9

Magic Gaming will open the regular season in its third year in NBA 2K League play with a double-header on April 8 vs. Warriors Gaming Squad at 7:00 p.m. followed by Kings Guard Gaming at 10:00 p.m. The season commences with THE TIPOFF tournament, March 24-28 (schedule for tournament TBD). Magic Gaming's full schedule is below.

In addition, Magic Gaming will host two local events featuring four teams in the league. The Magic Gaming Round-Robin hosted by Full Sail University will take place at the university’s renowned on-campus esports arena, The Fortress, on May 23 at 1:00 p.m., culminating in a finals matchup at 7:00 p.m. The competition will feature Magic Gaming, Hawks Talon GC, Hornets Venom GT and Heat Check Gaming. The second event in Orlando will be a rivalry matchup on June 27 also hosted by Full Sail University featuring a one-game competition between Nets GC and Magic Gaming.

Other select NBA 2K League teams will host the rivalry matches and round-robin events in their markets and each of these matches/games will count toward a team's regular season standings, with the exception of the round-robin championship games. Each round-robin event will have a prize pool of $20,000 each for the winning team.

Each NBA 2K League team will play a total of 16 regular season games on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. All regular season games will take place at the new NBA 2K League Studio in Manhattan featuring revamped audience seating that reflects the circular competition format unique to the NBA 2K League, larger screens, a mic'd stage that will highlight the players and their personalities to viewers in the studio and watching on the broadcast, a VIP lounge, a streaming pod for guest streamers and an additional studio for content capture. The weekly matchups during the regular-season will determine playoff seeding.

The 2020 season will once again feature three in-season tournaments (THE TIPOFF, THE TURN and THE TICKET) in which teams compete for banners that link together to form THE BANNER CHAIN. All 23 teams will compete in THE TIPOFF and THE TURN. The 14 teams that are not one of the top nine playoff seeds will compete in THE TICKET, which will see the winning team earn the 10th and final spot in the 2020 NBA 2K League Playoffs, which will tip off Wednesday, July 29 and take place over four days of gameplay.

All 23 teams will have five bye weeks during the season, along with a league-wide bye week July 1-3.

During the 2020 season, the NBA 2K League will award $1.4 million in prize money across THE TIPOFF and THE TURN, the six round-robin local tournaments and the NBA 2K League Playoffs.

Magic Gaming recently added two players to its roster through the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft on Saturday, February 22. The team selected Alex "ProFusion" Snowden with the 35th overall pick and Daniel "Djbama" Burge with the 6th overall pick.
