Full Sail Grads Host Mastering the Voice Event
The vocal production workshop was the first event in the music-focused Industry In Sight series.

On May 1, Full Sail students attended Mastering the Voice, a comprehensive vocal production workshop led by Music Production faculty members and two Full Sail graduates, Ivana Loyola (Music Production) and Tyonne Heyward (Recording Arts). The event took place in The Treehouse, Full Sail’s student-run performance venue, and it was the first event in the music- and recording-focused Industry In Sight series.
Mastering the Voice focused on vocal production, arrangement, coaching, and performance skills. Ivana and Tyonne – who are professional singers, songwriters, producers, and vocal coaches – created the workshop in an effort to give back to the Full Sail community. Whether attendees were budding vocalists or experienced singers, the workshop offered them the opportunity to learn how to take their skills to the next level.
Ivana and Tyonne played an original R&B song they created and, step by step, showed how they crafted it. They talked through the different stages of a vocal project, from recording, tuning, and layering to creating a final mix and elevating the song with harmonies and backing vocals. Tyonne told the story behind the song, which was inspired by his rocky relationship with his father, and Ivana explained her production workflow.
“The Industry In Sight series brings students into the room with working professionals for interviews, demonstrations, Q&As, and workshops,” said David Kropf, a Music Production department chair and facilitator of the Industry In Sight series. “It’s a behind-the-scenes look at real-world careers, tools, and techniques shaping today’s music industry.”
