Full Sail University Named Apple Distinguished School
Full Sail was recognized for 2022-2025.
Full Sail University is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2022–2025.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration and critical thinking in learning, teaching and the school environment, and have documented results of academic accomplishment.
“At Full Sail, we continue to equip our students and educators with technology that will enable them to create, explore and innovate collaboratively,” stated Isis Jones, Chief Information Officer, and Executive Director of Education at Full Sail University. “Our longstanding relationship with Apple technology has enabled our students, graduates, faculty, and staff to take their craft to the next level. We are humbled and honored to have earned the distinction of being named an Apple Distinguished School.”
With an emphasis on project-based learning in a fast-paced, professional environment, Full Sail University’s educational structure emphasizes emerging technologies and the intersection between technology and the entertainment industries, making Full Sail uniquely positioned to creatively incorporate Apple products into many facets of a students' education.
Full Sail’s mission is to provide students with an innovative style of education that addresses the career opportunities available in ever-growing, constantly evolving industries. We do this by developing unique curricula that combines elements of creativity, art, business, technical prowess, and academic achievement. Our university is dedicated to training future leaders in the emerging technology industries. These fields are, by their very nature, reliant upon the continuous innovation of their respective technologies. Our programs are designed specifically to evolve as new methods and applications unfold, thereby allowing students to remain relevant and informed throughout the entire learning process.
The Apple ecosystem has been a cornerstone of learning and teaching at Full Sail for many years. Project LaunchBox™ was created in 2007 using Apple computers and it forms an integral part of our learning infrastructure. Students in online degree programs receive an iPad or a MacBook Pro to complete coursework in our learning management system. In our campus programs, many of our students receive a MacBook Pro as part of their Project LaunchBox. Apple tools help faculty deliver coursework in innovative and inclusive ways; from multi-modal curriculum design using iMovie and GarageBand and labs and studios that run Mac Pro and Mac Mini workstations to instruction in the Swift programming language and digital audio workstations that use Logic Pro.
Since Full Sail introduced Project LaunchBox™ in 2007, Apple has been a great resource in keeping students productive when it comes to end user technology and support. Due to the accelerated nature of our curriculum, students need fast and consistent support to keep them on pace with the work required. When students encountered technical issues during the pandemic, access to support services through AppleCare enabled them to get back on track and complete their coursework with minimal delay.
The selection of Full Sail University as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as an innovator and a compelling learning environment that engages students, and provides tangible evidence of academic achievement.
