Alumni and students less than three months out from graduation recently gathered in the Full Sail Live venue to attend the latest in-person Career Fair hosted by the school's Career Development department. The fair featured 24 employers looking to fill positions in a variety of industries; employers on hand included WWE, Carnival Cruise Line, Plaza Live, and others.

Many students utilized Career Development’s aid and presented their workshopped resumes to employers, who handed out business cards and job applications to aspiring candidates."

“These events are our Super Bowl," says James Hopper, the Career Development department's Employer Development Manager. "There is so much opportunity spread all over all throughout the day, so, whether you are a few months out still or an alumnus from 20 years ago, there is value for you in multiple pockets during the day.”

The all-day event offered several complimentary amenities to prepare students to meet potential employers, such as headshots, resume workshopping, and more. Attendees also enjoyed a live DJ and a variety of food trucks for refreshments as they mingled and networked with their fellow peers and alumni.

As the Career Fair kicked off in Full Sail Live, students could also venture into Building 3B to sit in on employer panels and career readiness workshops. Several Full Sail alumni returned to speak with students and provide advice on entering the career field as they finish their education.

As Product Specialist at DS-Interpretation, where he helps world leaders communicate internationally, Full Sail alumnus Sean Murtha has employed several fellow Full Sail grads. At the employer panel, he urged graduating students to use the university’s resources to their advantage.

“Please go to Career Development and have them help you write your resume," he said.

Many students utilized Career Development’s aid and presented their workshopped resumes to employers, who handed out business cards and job applications to aspiring candidates. Career Development also provided assistance with transcript requests, loan management, and options to continue their education, equipping them with all the resources they’d need to take on the workforce in the fall.

Career Development has already hosted several virtual and in-person career fairs this year, most recently at Full Sail’s Hall of Fame Week, which brought out companies such as Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the Walt Disney Company, and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. The next on-campus Career Fair will be held October 24.
