About This Program

Musical artists across all genres must be surrounded by highly skilled business professionals to be successful in the competitive music industry.

The Music Business Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares students with the business skills needed to work with record labels, online streaming sites, concert promoters, and other industry organizations. Courses cover artist management, music copyright and publishing, concert management and touring, and music evaluation.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Business Management - This course examines various types of organizational structures and corporate cultures. Students will also gain insight on the importance of creativity and innovation in making business decisions.

Music Business Models - This course provides students with an overview of music business corporate structure and the support companies that assist in the development, distribution, and sale of music.

Music Copyright & Publishing - This course teaches students how to protect their creative works and provides an overview of the business mechanisms that can affect the use of their songs and those of their clients.
