The Telly Awards honor the nation’s best in film and television production – from online videos and programs to commercials and segments – and this year’s list of winners includes a pair of faculty members from Full Sail’s Digital Cinematography program.

Colin Hart (Course Director, Digital Audio Production) and Ryan Funk (Course Director, Digital Cinematography Lighting II) won two bronze Telly Awards in the “Online How-To/Instructional” and “Internet/Online Education” categories for their instructional video on microphone placement.

“Production Dialogue – Microphone Placement” was created as part of the curriculum for the online bachelor’s degree program. In the Digital Cinematography program, faculty will often create instructional videos to complement their students’ coursework. Colin wrote and directed and Ryan served as the Director of Photography for the segment, which was shot on campus using a Sony NEX-FS100 camera.

Other faculty and staff members who assisted on the project: Zack Austin (Assistant Camera), Bill Kavan (Gaffer), Andy Raut (Mixer), and Bob Perry (BTS Photographer). You may also recognize Film Lab Specialists Kevin O’Neill and Jon Sessoms as the two actors in the video.
