Every year, the *gamehers gaming platform celebrates the accomplishments of women and femme-identifying people in the game industry at the *gamehers Awards. For the 2025 awards on May 17, several Full Sail faculty, staff, and grads were nominated in a variety of categories, and seven of them were named as winners. Full Sail’s Armada esports community also connected at a streamed watch party during the show.

[The watch party] attendees were so excited to see how many people from Full Sail won.”

The *gamehers platform allows streamers, content creators, esports athletes, and other women in the games industry to connect, celebrate their achievements, and share their experiences with each other. The annual awards show highlights their contributions to the industry.

Full Sail’s Armada community came together to celebrate the awards with a watch party that was streamed on the Armada Twitch channel. Led by Anissa Peoples, Full Sail’s Armada Community Manager, the watch party gave students a chance to connect with each other and applaud the nominees and winners.

“[The watch party] attendees were so excited to see how many people from Full Sail won,” said Anissa. “As [the *gamehers hosts] were explaining each category, I made sure to let the students know if a peer, instructor, or other staff member was up for an award. As we watched the winners' acceptance compilation, the room would erupt [in excitement] as the students saw familiar faces on the screen. It was so powerful to see the joy that our students had for all of the nominees.”

Faculty, staff, and grads were nominated in categories like Esports Excellence, TrailblazeHERs in Gaming, Advocates for Representation, and more. The winners from Full Sail were:

  • Community Champions: Anissa Peoples (Armada Community Manager)
  • Advocates for Representation: Sari Kitelyn (Full Sail Director of Esports)
  • Content CreateHERS: Bec Godsey (Course Director, Game Business & Esports degree); Mia Eremita (Sportscasting grad)
  • Impact Through Education: Ashley “AJ” Jones (Department Chair, Game Business & Esports degree)
  • InnovateHERS of Gameplay: Courtney Wood (Computer Science grad)
