Full Sail University has strong relationships with organizations across many industries related to its degree programs. These connections provide students with opportunities to interact with professionals who have been successful in their desired career sectors.

On Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19, the Full Sail campus hosted the BSides Orlando 2024 security conference. BSides Orlando is an organization that provides mentorship opportunities, resume reviews, and career coaching to those who currently work or aspire to work in information security and cybersecurity. This was the fifth year in which the conference was held at Full Sail, and the theme for this year’s event was Chomp Your Own Adventure, offering a wide range of informative activities for attendees to choose how they wanted to participate.

The event featured a variety of interactive workshops, breakout sessions, and presentations on relevant topics from experienced professionals. This included a keynote address from Jason Haddix, CEO of Arcanum Information Security and a leader in the cybersecurity field.

Additionally, attendees got to network with like-minded individuals to learn about what it takes to succeed in the industry. More than 800 participants were in attendance, including many Full Sail students.

Some of the topics covered were artificial intelligence, social engineering, phishing, container security, ethical hacking, and penetration testing.

During the event, two Full Sail cybersecurity students received academic scholarships valued at $5,000 each. These included Richard Bruno, a campus student and military veteran, as well as Breanna Balchin, an online student. In addition, Full Sail was a diamond sponsor of the event.
