On April 28, new Full Sail students gathered on campus for the Student Community Association’s (SCA) networking summit. Hosted monthly by SCA during New Student Orientation Week, the event introduces students to the Full Sail community by featuring booths from active student clubs and organizations, community partners, and university resources. Students had the opportunity to learn about involvement opportunities, upcoming events, and ways to engage beyond the classroom.

Many clubs designed creative booths and interactive experiences to promote their missions, recruit members, and highlight leadership opportunities."

Throughout the event, students could chat with members of various clubs, including the Korean Culture Club, the Tabletop Gaming Club, the Pride Club, and more, and get plugged into the university’s community. Additionally, attendees could talk to representatives from local organizations, like the Orange County Library System, where students could sign up for a library card, and Hope & Help, a local nonprofit healthcare organization that offers prevention and treatment services.

Many clubs designed creative booths and interactive experiences to promote their missions, recruit members, and highlight leadership opportunities. As students played games like giant Connect 4 and cornhole, participated in giveaways, enjoyed live music, and collected product samples, they had ample opportunities to form meaningful connections with each other.

“[We hope] students left feeling more connected to their peers and the Full Sail community,” said Jessica Henlon, the Director of Student Development at Full Sail. “We aim for [students] to discover leadership pathways through club involvement, gain awareness of academic support resources and professional development workshops, explore local discounts from community partners, learn about available work-study positions, and understand how extracurricular engagement can enhance their overall student experience.”
