Full Sail Armada Students and Staff Recognized at NACE National Convention

At the 2023 collegiate esports convention, Full Sail's Director of Esports and Project Development Sari Kitelyn won Director of the Year and was elected as Chairman of the Board

Full Sail University is excited to share recent recognition for the Full Sail Armada collegiate esports program and community at the NACE 2023 National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) is a nonprofit membership association organized by and on behalf of its member institutions. With more than 750 schools, 18,000+ student-athletes competing, and $16 million in esports scholarships and aid, NACE is the largest member association of varsity esports programs at colleges and universities across the United States.

With over 700 colleges in North America now offering varsity esports programs, the landscape of diverse voices has been critical to industry growth.”

At this year’s National Convention, Full Sail Armada staff and affiliates were winners at the NACE Awards in multiple categories for their contributions to collegiate esports. Bringing home wins in Shoutcaster of the Year (Mia “MiaMouse” Eremita, Sportscasting bachelor’s  and Director of the Year (Sari Kitelyn, Director of Esports and Project Development), Full Sail continued to demonstrate its commitment to preparing students for competitive play, careers in the industry, and North American collegiate esports.

During the convention, members elected peers to the different leadership groups representing NACE including the Board of Directors and the Competition Council. Director of the Year winner Sari Kitelyn was also elected as Chairman of the Board during this year’s leadership appointments.

Since 2016, Sari has been building Full Sail’s esports ecosystem, including establishing Full Sail Armada. Under Sari’s leadership, Full Sail’s esports efforts have grown, expanding both deep into the industry as well as locally on campus.

“It was a humbling honor to be elected as Chairman of the Board for the National Association of Collegiate Esports,” she says. “With over 700 colleges in North America now offering varsity esports programs, the landscape of diverse voices has been critical to industry growth. I am really excited to lead through these pivotal growth moments and to continue to learn from the phenomenal leaders that surround me.”
