Full Sail Hall of Fame Brings Successful Grads Back to Campus
This is the week we honor some of our most accomplished graduates and learn from them – and other industry notables – as they share techniques and insights from the entertainment industry.
It's Day 2 of Full Sail’s 4th Annual Hall of Fame celebration, which runs February 13-16. This is the week we honor some of our most accomplished graduates and learn from them – and other industry notables – as they share techniques and insights from the entertainment industry.
There are dozens of special events taking place during Hall of Fame Week. Some of today’s highlights include presentations by Pixar Lighting Technical Director Jeremy Vickery, recording engineers Marcella Araica and Dylan Dresdow, game industry animator Chance Glasco, and lighting designer Susan Rose. We end Valentine’s Day on a soulful note, with a free concert by “Bayou singer” Marc Broussard (it's also open to the public)!

Events @ 9 a.m.
A Conversation with Buford Jones 1 Full Sail Live 1 (on Forsyth Road) @ 9 a.m.– Join veteran sound engineer Buford Jones as he discusses his days on the road with such seminal artists as Pink Floyd, George Harrison, Faith Hill, ZZ Top and more. (This presentation is also offered at 11 a.m.)
Pathway to Pixar with Jeremy Vickery 1 FS3B-113 @ 9 a.m.– Learn from Lighting Technical Director and Hall of Fame inductee Jeremy Vickery as he talks about the evolution of his career – beginning with his work on Veggie Tales; his stints at LEGO, Disney, Sony and Ubisoft; and culminating with his work at animation giant Pixar, contributing to hits like The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E and Brave. (This presentation is also offered at 11 a.m.)
Self Publishing, Maximizing Revenue 3B-112 @ 9 a.m.– Full Sail Course Director Kim Craft will explain what's needed to self-publish creative writing projects using print-on-demand tools. She'll also give an overview of marketing techniques and copyright law.
Creativity, Consistency, and Usability: Branding for Game Artists 3B-130@ 9 a.m.– Game Art Course Director Jeff Parrott will discuss how game artists can develop an online art portfolio and web presence that will stand out above the rest.
The New Multimedia Consumer 3B-131 @ 9 a.m.– Full Sail Entertainment Business faculty members Susan Albershardt, Brandy Price, and Chase Razabdouski will examine the digital distribution and consumption of media and discuss the new models and platforms being utilized by distributors and consumers.

The three music industry insiders will talk about the art of audio as well as their career paths, working with artists like Missy Elliot, Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Nelly Furtado, Mariah Carey, Timbaland, Christina Aguilera, Wyclef Jean, Usher, Jennifer Lopez and more.
Inside the Studio with Dylan Dresdow & Dave Pensado FS3B-130 @ 11 a.m.– Learn from Dave Pensado and Hall of Fame inductee Dylan “3-D” Dresdow – both Grammy-winning mix engineers – as they talk about what it’s like to work in the studio with top talent like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Usher, the Black Eyed Peas, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, and Elton John.
You.com – How to Create a Powerful Personal Brand 3B-112 @ 11 a.m.– Full Sail faculty members Phil Pallen, David Painter, Dr. Heather Dartez, and Rob Croll will discuss how individuals can harness the power of the Internet to create a powerful personal brand.
The Impact of Social Media on Sports and Entertainment 3B-131 @ 11 a.m.– Full Sail faculty members (and public relations and marketing experts) Elizabeth Neff, Kathryn Stuart, and Ken DeGilio will discuss how Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media sites have changed fan interaction.

Hall of Fame IV Inductee Session EB Auditorium (FS3B-106) @ 1 p.m. – Meet all of the Hall of Fame IV inductees – Dylan Dresdow, Marcella Araica, Chance Glasco, Joey Morelli, Susan Rose and Jeremy Vickery – in this special Q&A session.

Audio Post Workflows for Episodic Television FS3B-112 @ 1 p.m. – Lean how audio post professionals set up workflows that allow them to quickly clean up dialogue, create enticing sound design, edit in the perfect emotional music cue, and deliver stunning mixes. Frank Scheuring, sound editor/mixer and owner of Capital Post, shares his secrets to delivering great audio mixes within the ever-shortening window of time that networks demand.
Cary Granat, Chief Content Officer of Reel FX, Inc. FS3B-131 @ 1 p.m. – Meet Cary Granat, chief content officer of Reel FX, Inc. Mr. Granat co-founded Walden Media, LLC in 2001 and served as its creative consultant and co-chief executive officer. Before launching Walden Media in 2001, Mr. Granat was president of Miramax Films’ Dimension label. Under his direction, Dimension became one of the most recognizable brands in the industry, producing the successful Scream, Scary Movie, and Spy Kids franchises. Cary also managed the development and production of several MCA/Universal films, including the box office hit Babe.

ESPN executives and panelists Jason Vega, Kevin Stolworthy, Marina Escobar and Anthony Bailey are all involved in developing new technologies, such as high-end graphic software, interactive applications, 3D cameras, and robotic systems.
Susan Rose: The Road to Hall of Fame FS3B-112 @ 3 p.m. – Join Hall of Fame inductee Susan Rose as she talks about her lengthy career in the entertainment industry – first as a singer and then as a lighting designer, programmer and director, working on TV specials and with artists like Ringo Starr, Louise Mandrell, and Hank Williams, Jr.
Chance Glasco of Infinity Ward & Jameson Durall of Volition FS3B-113 @ 3 p.m. – Find out how to build a great game career from 2001 Computer Animation graduate Chance Glasco and 2001 Game Development graduate Jameson Durall in this Q&A session. Between them, these two Hall of Famers have worked on many hit titles and franchises, such as the Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Red Faction: Armageddon, The Godfather, and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath.
Copycat TV FS3B-130 @ 3 p.m. – Explore the world of reality TV, the phenomenon of copycat television, and the strategies producers use to rise above the rest, from reality TV writer and Hall of Famer Troy DeVolld – whose credits include Basketball Wives, the Osbournes, the Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, and Flipping Out. He is joined by casting producer Jennifer Dubasak.
Bruce Swedien – His Life in Music Full Sail Live 1 (on Forsyth Road) @ 3 p.m. – Five-time Grammy-winning engineer/producer Bruce Swedien discusses his musical accomplishments working on hit albums like Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Dangerous, as well as with some of the biggest names in music, including Quincy Jones, Mick Jagger, Muddy Watters, Duke Ellington, Donna Summer, B.B. King, Missing Persons, Paul McCartney, Natalie Cole, Jennifer Lopez, and many more.
The Business of the WWE: A Conversation with John Saboor FS3B-131 @ 3 p.m. – The WWE is a billion-dollar sports franchise and a worldwide phenomenon – producing live events, merchandise, and publications 52 weeks a year. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the WWE from Senior Vice President of Special Events John Saboor.

Marc Broussard Concert Full Sail Live @ 8 p.m. – Full Sail is proud to welcome back to campus Vanguard recording artist and “Bayou Soul” singer Marc Broussard. This concert is free and open to the public and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m., so arrive early to get your seats!
