Grads on 2023’s Holiday Blockbusters
Dozens of grads were credited on releases like Wish, Wonka, and Trolls Band Together.
The holiday season is a great time to catch up with family and friends – and to check out the latest movie releases. Dozens of grads worked on 2023’s holiday blockbusters, including animated hits like Wish and Trolls Band Together as well as new additions to established stories like The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Kids and grownups alike enjoyed the jukebox musical Trolls Band Together this season. Grads like Jillyn Schaefer (Production Supervisor) and Lyndsey K. Horton (Character Rigger) worked behind the scenes on the family-friendly comedy.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes brought the dystopian film series back to movie theaters. Jeffrey Roy (ADR Mixer) and Isaiah Cleveland (Lighting Artist) contributed to the film’s audio and visual elements. Isaiah also worked as a Lighting Artist on Napoleon.
Disney’s Wish introduced audiences to the Kingdom of Rosas and the protagonist Asha as she attempts to overpower the evil Magnifico. Full Sail grad Benjamin Rice co-wrote and co-produced all seven of the film’s original songs, including “Welcome to Rosas” and “This Wish.”
Grads also helped out on DC’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Jonathan Cunningham contributed to the movie’s look and feel as a Lighting Artist, while Katy Wright supported the film’s editorial team as a Second Assistant Editor.
Full Sail grads also appeared in the credits of holiday movies like Migration, American Fiction, and Wonka.
