About This Program

As new media channels emerge in the entertainment industry, there is an increasing demand for creative writers who can tell compelling stories across multiple platforms.

The Creative Writing Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares students to hone their writing abilities while exploring visual storytelling, narrative structures, character development, and storyboarding to create well-crafted stories that captivate consumers.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Multimedia Storytelling - Students will learn the building blocks of visual storytelling, such as how to communicate moods, emotions, ideas, sounds, and scenery through props.

Television Writing - This course provides a challenging opportunity for students to adapt principles and concepts gleaned from previous writing courses to develop proficiency with the creative process used by professional television writers.

Publishing & Distribution - Students in this course will learn how to publish and distribute their screenplays, television shows, comic books, videogame scripts, and novels.
