As the final event in a week full of presentations, lectures, concerts, and ceremonies celebrating Full Sail’s 2010 Hall of Fame, inductee/mixing engineer Leslie Brathwaite and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins (founding member of multi-platinum female pop group TLC) participated in an open discussion panel with students in Full Sail Live 1.

The two panelists met when Leslie was fresh out of Full Sail’s Recording Arts degree program and was working as an intern in Atlanta, Georgia, at a time when TLC was on top of the world. Impressed by the young engineer’s attention to detail and strong work ethic, Watkins struck up a friendship with Leslie and the two have been close friends and collaborators ever since.

After answering questions submitted by Full Sail Online students, the duo took questions from the audience, touching upon their beginnings in the industry and the behind-the-scenes politics that affect how records are made, released, and promoted. They also offered advice (from both the artist and engineer perspective) about how students can best prepare themselves to enter into the entertainment industry.
