Ric Viers
Ric Viers is known as the "Rock and Roll Professor of Sound" — and it's a much-deserved title for the 1996 Film grad. In his nearly two-decade career, Ric has become the world’s largest producer of professional sound effects libraries. Ric founded Blastwave FX - the world’s first HD sound effects publishing company and he is also the owner of SoundEffects.com, which features sound effects content from publishers and independent producers around the world.
Working out of his Michigan studio - the Detroit Chop Shop - Ric has hosted six seasons of a YouTube series featuring his work with interns from around the world to help them get started in their careers. He is credited with location sound work that's been used in hundreds of productions and is the author of three books: The Sound Effects Bible, The Location Sound Bible and Make Some Noise.
